OUR METHOD

OSINT methodology, sources & research transparency

A useful intelligence picture should make its evidence easier to inspect.

01

Keep the source attached

Tactical OSINT retains structured source records together with publisher or dataset identity, original links, import time and acquisition manifests. When a structured payload is archived, its content hash links it to the capture trail. Some publishers permit discovery metadata only; those records do not imply that the article body has been retained.

02

Make uncertainty visible

An observation, a source statement, a machine-coded event candidate and an analyst assessment are different things. Maps show what the source records support. Annual figures are retrospective series, and a completed reporting period does not establish when a figure first became available to the public. Source-native date precision remains visible.

03

Explain the geography

Conflict cells aggregate source-coded coordinates, which may be imprecise. Cyber countries describe the victim’s country of operation, not an attack origin. Country anchors for population and economic figures are reference locations. Natural Earth outlines provide geographic context and do not constitute a political or analytical assessment.

04

Describe coverage before drawing conclusions

The retained archive is an initial import with uneven dates and geography. Recurring collection is not yet enabled. Repeated reporting may describe one episode; a missing record does not show that nothing happened. The source register documents access requirements and collection status, while import coverage records successful and unavailable batches.
